With our CNC CONTROLS RETROFIT SOLUTIONS, you can bring new life to an old machine. This is what we do.

A CNC retrofit is the process of replacing the CNC control, servo and spindle motors, drives, and electrical components on a machine, as well as the machine’s existing wiring. Machines that are mechanically sound but have outdated controls can be retrofitted with CNC technology by MATS.

IS MY MACHINE AN APPROPRIATE FIT?

Providing CNC retrofit services for big format machines is a speciality of MATS Machine Tool Solutions.

WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES OF A CNC RETROFIT WITH A MATS MACHINE?

  • Purchasing a used machine is a more cost-effective option than purchasing a new machine.
  • Today’s controls are more adaptive to mechanical fault diagnoses, and you may electrically adjust for these faults in a used machine with the proper CNC control.
  • Retrofitting may be done on-site, eliminating the requirement for equipment and shipping costs.
  • Due to more powerful CNC control processors, part program cycle times are faster.
  • New control options, such as tooltip programming, resulting in better part finishes.
  • The time the machine is out of commission is far less than the time it takes for a replacement machine to arrive.
  • For Retrofits,  parts and labour guarantee is included, as well as an extra year of parts warranty.

WHAT IS THE MATS PROCESS FOR CNC REPAIRING AND RETROFITTING?

  • An onsite engineering trip is carried out by MATS to acquire information about the machine in order to prepare for the refit and to begin the software development process.
  • The control kit, as well as the new electrical cabinet, are constructed at MATS and then supplied to their respective customers.
  • In order to begin actual integration, MATS will arrive on-site and rip out the old wires and replace them with fresh new ones, as well as the old control and motors. The newly developed control
  • The system has been incorporated and tested.
  • MATS also conducts training on the new control and delivers updated documentation, which includes the following items.
    • Manual for the Machine Operator
    • Electrical Connection Schematics (also known as schematics)
    • Manuals for control, servo/spindle operation, and I/O.
